I don't know if yous would feel the same, but I just felt a little bit lost for a while.
And I thought, oh my God, like, and the fact that I could do anything overwhelmed me.
So it was like, do I want to go more like pop rock?
Do I want to go down this route?
Do I want to do that?
And then I kind of experimented with it.
But I feel like with already being on a platform from being in a girl group, people have expectations then.
So if I was working away at albums after album after album, sonically different every time, people would probably just get on board eventually with whatever I was doing, hopefully.
And they'd be like, oh, this is great.
Like Sabrina Carpenter, she's been around for years and she's tried so many different things and then all of a sudden it's stuck.
But I think when you're already established in a big group, it's all eyes on you straight away.
And if you don't get it right out the gate straight away, it's almost like people are either disappointed or thinking, oh, I was expecting this, I wasn't expecting that.
But I'm like, but let me just...
have a minute you know what i mean there's a really fine balance isn't there between giving people what they expect but still being able to surprise them enough that exactly they didn't they didn't oh this is not the sound that i thought she was going to come out and then be pleasantly surprised so it's really weird and i feel like everyone's watching everything i i do already so i can't even necessarily experiment without people being like well is this a sound then
And I'm like, but not necessarily, I'm just trying it.
I'm just trying it.
So I'm kind of just like going with the flow.
And then the Perry album was, it was very me, but it was, there was a lot of different kinds of things on there sonically.
So now I think I know the world that I'm in.
Yeah.
