Do I think he should be a first baseman forever?
No.
But there's a certain element to it that's passable if you have a good defense.
And I think he completely changes the Orioles.
I love him in this lineup.
I love him behind Gunnar Henderson.
Now they have a left-right-left thing going on at the top.
That ballpark, as we know, is a great place to hit home runs.
So he's going to hit a ton of them.
He's going to invigorate these young guys, and he's got a great Gregorius personality, and he'll connect with the fans instantly just the same way he did in New York.
So there's so much to like about Pete.
I understand the drawbacks.
I get it.
But I think when you look around the landscape of the league,
especially this offseason.
It was him and Schwarber.
Those are two guys with the power that can transform a lineup.
Philly knew what they had and that they couldn't let it go, and I think that Baltimore kind of lucked out that they were able to pivot right to Pete.
I do like him as well.
I definitely liked him in Boston as well.
