I think it was β in games that he played the latter half of the season, the power play was top 10 in the league, which is much more in line with what we would envision compared to the β
kind of 27th, 28th that the Avalanche power play was for a majority of the year, which was very jarring given the talent on it.
And against Minnesota, the power play was really good.
And I think Kadri played a really key role in getting that going.
So I think he deserves a lot of credit for that.
I think he can still score.
There's definitely going to be β like he is getting older.
Like there are going to be some β
stylistic changes in his game that he's probably going to have to adjust to as he's aging.
Do I think that Kadri can be a strong middle six player on the Avalanche next year?
I 100% do.
Is that worth the package they gave up that included a first-round pick?
It probably depends on the results you get.
But I don't think that it's like a β I don't think it was a slam-dunk win, but I think because of the power play progression, which, again, went cold against Vegas, so maybe I'm β I don't know.
But I think some of that is also that Kael McCarr was β
off the power play the first two games of the series.
So I don't know.
It's hard for me to get too hung up on it, but I do, in general, the age of the team is, I think, a little more concerning than that acquisition in particular.
One thing I will say, Sam Malinsky was excellent this year.
He fills that archetype.
