It's all in an effort to appease and it's been utterly unnecessary.

The pendulum has swung so, so far that it needs to be brought back to the middle ground where common sense applies, where people will be policed fairly, equally, without any kind of favour,

for any particular group, but it's going to be led politically for that to happen because the police so often follow the politics and we need the politics to bring that pendulum back towards the sensible centre ground from where it currently lives.

Yeah, I think it will do.

But if populism delivers what people actually want and is therefore popular, will that be a bad thing?

People are desperate for change in this country.
