It is serious, and the authorities are taking it very seriously, saying that the full weight of the law will come down on those who are found guilty of breaking into people's homes after the owners or the residents of those homes have evacuated for fear of fire engulfing their neighbourhoods. But clearly the reality is that he and Donald Trump will have to work together in the aftermath of this disaster. And they've, of course, long been at loggerheads, these two politicians, especially over environmental policy.
