But I have some very honest cops in this book and that was interesting to play with as against the very dishonest ones.
It is a bit harder to write a good person.
The best way to do it is to give them a sense of humour so that people will find them appealing.
And I try to do that.
And again, you have to be very careful not to make them sanctimonious or self-righteous and things like that.
But I don't find that too hard to do.

Well, that's strange because in the first version of the book, it was too close.
And I hadn't heard of this particular gentleman.
So I think I changed the nickname.
And I don't think the details correspond very much to the history of that person.
But, yeah, it is something to keep an eye out for.
I've known certain lawyers and of certain lawyers and I've got a lawyer friend who will advise me about things like that.
yes indeed and again that's where another book i did called mad dog moxley which was a sort of true crime book about a murder i did research in the police and justice museum and had some very good conversations with people there and so
You used the material to hand and so that provided me with, again, with texture and almost a character.
I had to build the character up.
I think so.
I think, in a way, he's a sort of historian of the city.
