But it goes wrong when you start to enjoy the feeling of being right more than putting things right itself.
In other words, it's when you're online and you have an argument and you win that argument completely.
You could prove their point wrong and you get this great buzz.
But then you want to find another argument.
So then you start another argument just to get that buzz again.
There's a theologian called John Iton who describes it this way.
He calls it rixa or quarrelsomeness, which is the addiction to being right.
It's saying you don't need other people.
Believing you can always stand on your own in everything.
Envy is, it's not quite what we think it is.
It's not wanting what someone else has.
If I'm envious of you, let's say you've got those antique clocks.
If I'm envious of you, I don't want your antique clocks.
I want your antique clocks to explode.
