What does that have to do with the State of the Union?
Simply this.
The key number in consumer confidence yesterday was the expectation of people that inflation is going to run at about four and a half percent.
Now, think about that.
We're in a world where inflation, the inflation rate is dramatically downshifting and we're
down close to a 2% target.
So what that suggests is a wide gap between expectations and reality.
And it's that gap that the Democrats are precisely going to try to exploit going into November.
They're going to sit on their hands and stonewall and then call us murderers
when the reality is a far cry from that expectation.
But people, it's almost like people during the Biden years had PTSD because they got so beaten down by everything that was thrown at them, whether it was the inflation surge, whether it was losing their jobs or getting murdered by illegal aliens.
or whether it was simply the world falling apart with the example in Afghanistan.
And so what we have to do and what the president did very, very well last night is continue to explain to the American people what he is doing and how it is making things significantly better.
And
He keeps saying, and I think this is 110 percent right, that if Kamala Harris had been elected instead of him, this country would be done over.
But it's a 50-50 country.
It's more like a 60-40 country.
