It's a great play.
It's almost indestructible, although...
There is a tendency nowadays to kind of hammer things home and make them relevant.
It's so insulting to audiences to presume that they understand nothing.
I mean, Wilde has already done that for you.
Wilde is absolutely taking the piss out of these people while appearing to revere them.
I mean, it's so infuriating that theatres now feel they have to speak down to us.
That word relevant makes me want to buy a machine gun.
It was about kind of when Russia collapsed and all the oligarchs started taking over.
I thought it would be really dry and really boring and really, it was fantastic.
It was directed by Rupert Gould.
Fantastic play, really brilliant.
I read kind of... That's my big addiction.
