What you do have is Canadian teams that there's work to be done.
Outside, I mean, Montreal lost last night, and I thought they were kind of feeling their way through it a little bit.
Buffalo deserves credit.
But there's a lot of teams either licking their wounds or have to get right back to the table and get back on the horse, including the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Edmonton Oilers and the Ottawa Senators, the Winnipeg Jets, the Calgary Flames, Vancouver Canucks.
There's lots of teams that have work ahead of them, Strud.
And, you know, you've got Nick Jensen coming off the books, so probably another right-shot defenseman that can play in your either 4-5 role in that situation because the Jordan Spence, I think, showed that he can push up.
but i i look at it every team has a wish list the problem is is can you execute it with the cap going up and a lot of these teams either don't have currency or they need some currency so when the market is going to be clogged i'll give you an example like
The Toronto Maple Leafs put their hand up and say, yeah, we want four new defensemen.
Where are you acquiring them from when you don't have a lot of assets?
And are you going to go scorched earth?
I think that's where I'll come back to the options that the Toronto Maple Leafs have.
Everything should be on the table because now you've got the first pick.
So if you are looking at a rebuild, you could maybe expedite a little bit with that first pick.
If you're looking at a retool, you're going to have to move some players out and spend some money.
The Leafs don't have a problem spending to the cap.
But I look at it, Montreal is a team that I think is probably best positioned, not only for now, but for years to come, based on the team they have, the currency they have, and the young players.
They've got Enstrom and Reinbacher in the minors.
They've got Fowler sitting on the bench.
This could be the next Carey Price.
