How things have changed.
I'm glad to hear it seems I will still have a job when I graduate for now.
But I'm curious, do you think medical school should be formally teaching students how to use AI tools safely instead of not talking about it or leaving them to figure it out themselves?
Thanks for the show.
I can't tell you how many times I've been able to link my learning in with an episode you produced, Best Wishes Ava.
I think they should teach it.
And what's available for patients on social media in terms of misinformation, how to combat it.
Yes, it needs to change.
Equip the health professionals in all facets with the tools.
We had lots of letters actually from multiple people in response to the chat GPT health segment that we did last week.
Some people saying they felt that the study wasn't fair to the AI tool because it compared a single prompt to the triage decisions of a panel of doctors.
But they did test, we should say.
Yeah, it was a single prompt at least initially, but then they did test it further, give it further information in some instances, lab values, as the researcher said.
I think people get concerned when they hear critiques of large language models, but we know that people are turning to them and we know why.
It's because maybe you can't access a health professional, maybe it's costly, maybe there's a lack of access or availability.
We get why people are doing it.
We're not criticising, but, you know, there are potential limitations and safety concerns.
No, and we do appreciate your feedback though, so thank you.
Please do write in because we love it.
