And that's not impossible.
And again, I came across a new paper yesterday which showed that we make assumptions when we start this conversation that, you know, ageing is inevitable and over the years all of us will deteriorate, etc.,
One study has shown that, in fact, over a 12-year period, 40% of people in the USA, starting age 68, their physical activity and their cognitive ability actually improved.
When we're doing research, we're inclined to look at a whole group and just take an average mean and what's the direction of that.
And yes, 40%.
for the whole group of, it was 12,000 people almost, there was a deterioration in walking speed, for example, and in memory ability.
But there were 40% when you actually broke those down into different groups, that group of 12,000, 40% improved over the 12 years.
Now, I don't know enough about them to know, well, were they trying to or whatever?
But for me, it said, but you can't.
You can.
And also when you're over the age of 68, you might have a bit more time to invest in yourself as well, you know, to push the exercise a little bit, be healthier diet wise and so on and have more social connections.
I think the 30 matters as well, Clare, you know, being aware that there might be a landing at around age 30, because that's when we're, you know, busy children, all of the, there are so many, for many people, domestic things happening that consume them.
And they're very little time for themselves.
And they're probably pushing the career as well at that time.
Correct.
And mortgages and financial worries, etc.
So just to be aware, maybe that's a period of time when you also need to focus on diet and physical activity and friendships.
To de-stress.
The news is really good, though, isn't it?
Overall, it is really good.
