Just going back to Few and Far Between which as I said is an absolutely brilliant brilliant book and very funny too I should say given you know we've talked about a lot of the darker aspects of the subject matter but it's quite hilarious like Marion is a beautiful character who you just love there's also an amazing trans woman character called Sharon who
in the book as well and she's older and she as many people have done used the arch the archipelago as a place of sanctuary somewhere that they could be themselves without the stairs and the judgement of the mainland as you say but writing about Northern Ireland like
I just think it's a brilliant book.
I think people in Ireland would love it.
But you have had maybe some trouble getting people in the UK to kind of be as engaged with it.
Just in the whole Lock and A thing.
I mean, you travel an awful lot.
As you say, you're lucky enough to get these residencies.
But Northern Ireland is so special to you and Belfast.
And you'll always probably stay there, will you?
Let's see if he catches me.
I love to run very fast.
Jan Carson, amazing book, Few and Far Between.
I think it's your best yet.
And I've loved your other books as well.
But it's really, really worth the read.
And even if you're not interested in ecology or the Loch Ness or algae, it is full of populated with these amazing characters and fascinating, interesting.
These dark islands are just amazing as well.
So thank you so much for talking to us.
Thank you.
