At one point, NM was actually diagnosed with cancer, so really the only times Walter or Melissa would leave the home was when they took him to get his treatment.
As for the kids, when MG lived with her mother, she attended public school in Oneida until COVID hit when she was in the third grade.
She ended up finishing out the 2019-2020 school year online before she moved in with her dad.
While living with Walter, she continued the fourth grade virtually before she was then homeschooled for the next three years.
So with that being said...
pretty much no one in that trailer ever left.
MG had little to no contact with her mother, grandmother, or other siblings.
She didn't go to the doctor.
She didn't interact with teachers or friends.
She was stuck inside the trailer with four adults and one other teenager.
No one ever heard anything about MG until the evening of August 21st, 2025,
when Walter called 911 to report that his daughter was acting lethargic and was comatose.
The call started with Walter saying, I have a 14-year-old daughter that she don't barely eat, so she looks really skinny.
She is also autistic, so if she don't want to eat, she don't eat.
So the last four or five days, she'd been sick, thrown up.
and I've been giving her liquid IVs and all that kind of stuff.
Today she is real lethargic and like was throwing up her arm laying on her bed throwing up her arm and now she's just like laying there like she's comatose but she's her eyes are open and she's moaning and she's throwing her arms around.
He went on to say that he is an end stage liver failure and her mother is diabetic so maybe she's having some sort of health issues like they have but he doesn't know.
He said that she's breathing on and off, but it's not normal.
He was asked if she's in any pain and he said, I don't know.
