Christopher's trial for murder started first, taking place in October of 2018.

His trial relied heavily on Crystal's testimony, the gun they found, as well as the cell phone evidence that showed their communication in the days leading up to the murder.

They argued that he agreed to commit a heinous murder for the benefit of drugs and money.

They argued that this wasn't a spur of the moment decision.

This wasn't a robbery gone wrong.

It was a well thought out, meticulously planned out murder.

In the end, the jury was sent off for deliberations where they spent two hours.

After deliberating, the jury found him guilty on capital murder, and they actually sentenced him to death by lethal injection.

Since then he has requested appeals, but those requests have all been denied.

Brenda's trial took place in May of 2019.

Once again, prosecutors discussed everything that we have gone over since the murder.

They argued that she was heartbroken when Ricky broke up with her.

They said that she was obsessed with him after the breakups, that all she wanted was to get back together with him.

But when she realized that this wasn't going to happen, she murdered his girlfriend to get her out of the way.

But the defense said that Brenda wasn't actually involved in any of this.

They came in hot and straight up called Crystal a liar.

They said that Crystal is making everything up and that Brenda was not involved.

They said that Crystal is motivated by this plea deal to come up with this whole story about what Brenda had done when in reality, she hadn't had any part of this.
