He described how after he hit her multiple times, she was still breathing and still making noises.
He was surprised that she still survived the attack and had not yet died after hitting her so many times.
In the police interview, it was reported that he said, quote, Then, after hitting her with a hammer multiple times to make sure that he actually murdered her and wouldn't somehow leave her still alive...
he ended the attack by stomping on her neck to suffocate her.
After the attack and when he was sure that she was dead, he placed her into the trunk of his car and then drove an additional 25 miles to Bavisand in Plymouth.
There, he stripped her down out of the clothes and jewelry she was wearing and then dumped her body, rolling her down a 15 feet deep bank in an area of dense shrubbery and trees.
This was by around 9.15 p.m.
After committing the heinous, vicious attack and dumping her body like it was trash, Cody left the area and went home and went to bed by 10 p.m.
The following day, he drove to the village of Tamerton Foulliet and threw the hammer he used for the attack into a river.
He also burned her purse as well as any other items that he noticed had blood on it or could identify Bobby.
Next, he threw her clothes into an allotment a few miles away from where her body was dumped.
Police did eventually find a shoe that belonged to Bobby.
the shoe did have her blood on it.
Then later the same day after dumping her clothes and the following day after the murder, he went and hung out and partied with some friends.
Police later spoke to the friends that Cody had been with after the murder, and they all described that he was laughing, joking, hugging people, being social, and acting completely normally that night.
Nothing seemed off about him.
He drank at the pub, ordered some pizza, and had a grand old time.
After that, he went to a practice session with his indie rock band.
That entire time, friends said that he appeared very happy, like almost too happy.
It was unusual for Cody to be in such a great mood during what they thought was a normal day.
