Not long after moving to St.

Louis, Dr. Sarah Sweeney was working in the emergency room when she met Robert Dawes.

After meeting, the two started a relationship and sometime in 2021, the two moved in together in the house that Robert originally lived in with Grace on Conway Drive in Creve Coeur.

After that, the two became engaged.

After announcing their relationship and Sarah's family getting to know more about who she was engaged to, they started finding the articles about how he was suspected of being involved in his ex-fiance's death.

her family started sending her links to the articles to warn her.

But at the time, it seemed that Sarah either didn't want to leave Robert or couldn't.

However, by November of 2021, Sarah's family were concerned when she stopped answering messages from her mother and stepfather altogether.

Unlike Grace, whose family were close by, Sarah lived in a different state than the rest of her family.

So if she was being controlled or abused, there was really no way for her family to notice the signs.

The only big sign they noticed was her lack of contact starting in November of 2021.

But even then, Sarah's mother would later say that she was a grown adult.

She was a doctor and had her own life, so they didn't know what to do.

They couldn't force her to talk to them or stay in contact with her family.

But things took yet another devastating turn on January 13th, 2024.
