They could have denied bail after seeing how uncooperative he was.
They could have actually heard the charges against Greg instead of letting them sit in limbo for months.
They could have kept him in jail for longer periods each time he was arrested for doing the same shit over and over and over again.
Yet none of those things happened and because of that, a 13-year-old boy was murdered in broad daylight in front of his own mother and several other families.
The inquest did find several missed opportunities to get Greg involved in the mental health system.
The inquest found that Greg suffered from delusional disorder and that he often switched between rational and irrational thoughts and behaviors.
They found several times when Greg should have been detained longer and denied bail.
They found that the glitch in the system prevented Greg from being arrested despite having several warrants out for his arrest.
But with that being said, with these findings, it was determined that Luke's death could not have been foreseen, especially since it happened in broad daylight.
The inquest also praised Rosie for how she handled and continues to handle the situation to this day.
She did everything she could as a mother.
There was nothing more she could have done because at a certain point, it is up to the courts and the system to follow through on the orders they have in place.
I'm really pleased with Judge Gray's findings.
and work to stop the violence.
In the aftermath of all of this, Rosie has been very outspoken about the system and how it desperately needs to change.
She believes that the system heavily favors the rights of violent parents rather than the children who need protection.
And I absolutely 100% agree with that because we see it so often in these cases.
She had to do custody visits with Greg despite telling them how violent he was.
and despite how he threatened their lives because as i stated earlier there was a time where rosie wanted greg in luke's life because she wanted both parents in his life
But after he threatened her and after he physically abused her and especially after he threatened Luke with that knife, she completely wanted him out of their lives.
