After that interview, Sukari left and obviously no charges were filed.
At that point, police knew that there was something sketchy going on, but they couldn't say exactly what.
There obviously was no body at this point, so she was just missing.
They had no reason to think that she was anything but missing.
They did know that Sukari was hiding something,
but they needed to investigate further if they were going to figure out what.
Police went ahead and contacted Uber saying that they had an emergency request to find out any and all Uber rides that occurred within a one mile radius of the area that Sukari described on the night in question.
It was confirmed that there was only one Uber pickup in that area, which turned out to be unrelated to Marina or anyone else involved in the investigation.
So that confirmed to police that there was no Uber ride like Sakari was saying.
So police then got a warrant to search Sakari's Mercedes where they found her iPhone 11.
They then got another warrant to take a look at the digital evidence from Sakari's phone.
They found text messages on an app called Telegram between Sakari and a contact believed to be Chance.
These text messages revealed that Chance and Sakari were involved in something much more sinister than they expected.
There were numerous text messages which indicate that Sakari and Chance were planning on hiring someone to kill Mirena.
But that didn't work out, so they had to take matters into their own hands.
I will read the text conversations between them now.
I do want to note, however, that I will be skipping some messages for the sake of time.
And I might be slightly rewording them due to the nature of how they speak to one another, just to make things easier to understand, and because there are a lot of text messages and they use a lot of slang and not the easiest grammar to read out loud.
The text thread starts on November 30th at 3.50pm.
Sakari to Chance.
