On August 7th, 2021, Abby and Matthew were packing up for a family camping trip that they were supposed to be leaving for that day.

However, all of a sudden, Matthew abruptly decided to put their two kids in their Mercedes Sprinter van and he drove off with them.

He wouldn't answer any of Abby's calls or text messages and she had no idea where he was planning on taking the children.

Confused and very concerned, Abby called the police to report this.

She told the authorities that the two weren't arguing or anything like that before he left, that he just suddenly up and left.
