Joe Tidy. Germany's president, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, has dissolved the country's lower house of parliament. The move follows the collapse of Chancellor Olaf Scholz's coalition and clears the way for snap elections in February to decide who will lead Europe's largest economy. Speaking in Berlin, Mr Steinmeier said Germany needed stable government.

The tiny country now has the fourth largest number of tigers after India, Russia and Indonesia.
