And it's wonderful that they have provided us with this living, which is beyond my wildest dreams. And it's wonderful that our music helps people and it brings them joy. It's, oh, that is great. But that's not the reason why we make music.

I hear songs all the time, just like I see pictures or think about possibilities for stories. It goes back to seeing things through the eyes of an artist. I can still remember things from prison that I want to put rhythmically into songs.

I can still hear when they would do inspections, they'd bring a stick and they'd come in and you had your metal locker and they would go boom and it would go clink, clink, clink, clink with the stick across the spines on the frame of your bed.
