I approached it from this sort of way where I was thinking, well, there's this elephant in the room and this young man is going to die, but I don't need to beat him over the head over it, but I can open up space for that if he wants to talk about this with me. So I asked him how he was feeling. Which is a different than, it's very different than just like, what's up, dude?

It's like when you're talking to a dying person, you're like, how are you feeling? And I figured if he wanted to move into that, explain to me what was going on with him, then I would listen. He was such a, he handled his own mortality with such calm and grace, like just this outwardly like calm demeanor. And I'm sure he was afraid at times it's natural, but he did not, He had a very stoic demeanor, man. And it was so inspirational because having been around people who are dying before, an older person, they're coming to the end of their life.
