Thank you, Dan.
Pleasure to be here with you today.
Pleasure to have you here.
First, you don't know what you're studying and why.
It's what we call retrospective sense-making.
You look back and say, oh, now, why did I do that?
What was I thinking?
How did I end up here?
And this is one of those projects where if you asked me five years ago, Ranjay, you're going to write a book about courage, I'd say you're crazy.
I mean, why would I want to write a book about that?
But now that I look back, in hindsight, it makes sense.
My mother was an entrepreneur.
My father was a military officer.
So I have parents who were exemplifying courage in their own very distinct ways.
One was physical courage in the armed forces in combat.
My mother as an entrepreneur.
And then, you know, some of my own experiences as well that I had, I came to realize that courage is a universal currency.
We all kind of...
admire it, but we don't really know what it is.
And I have some moments of embarrassment too.
