I can only imagine the panic of the driver on what to do next.
It would put the fear of God in me with 20 plus years of driving experience.
So this poor L driver was no doubt out of her mind with fear.
As I rolled to a stop, two or three cars behind her...
I spotted her saviour, a truck driver, with a shipping container load.
I think it was branded Maersk.
He was in the lane to her left, and rather than drive by on someone else's problem, he stopped his truck and jumped out.
At the time I was wondering what is this madman with a death wish up to stopping in the central lane of the M50 just at the cusp of one of its busiest junctions.
It then became apparent that not only was he doing horror solid but all the rest of the traffic heading in the same direction.
He dashed over to the red Fiat 500, checked she was OK and then gave her verbal instructions.
They both commenced pushing her lovely, cute car across three lanes of traffic, two of which still had cars and trucks whizzing by at 60 to 70 kilometres per hour, all in a rush.
Hear it there?
The truck driver led the way with his teal paddy camp β don't know what that is β to try to navigate them safely.
I don't know how the story ended, as my lane of traffic was unblocked, so I proceeded with my journey.
The traffic news would suggest that they landed to the safety of the hard shoulder.
Everyone on the M50 is in a rush and already under duress over the traffic delays to that point of their own individual journey.
The kindness of this stranger, who I'm sure had his own tight deadlines to make, was commendable.
I'm only disappointed there was not more distinguishing features as to give feedback to his employers as to what an invaluable staff member they have.
I'm writing this email to commend him and hope that somehow this story makes its way back to his ears.
Keep it up.
