It is my favourite story, which I won't retell.

I will.

Yeah.

So I was working for Extra Vision and we went to the Video Retailers Conference in L.A.,

And it was in the Hilton in LA, which is a ginormous hotel and conference centre.

And it was hosting it.

And the keynote speaker at the conference was Steve Martin.

Cool.

He was being paid a whack load of money.

So he was addressing all these retailers from all over America.

They were sitting there.

He was being Steve Martin, being funny enough.

And we...

didn't know this was on.

You know, we were sort of doing it guerrilla style, ambushing people and trying to get interviews.

So we set up at the side of this huge ballroom and we filmed his speech.

And then we were out, we left before he was finished, before the thing was finished because then the president of the Video Retailers Association of America came on.

We weren't interested in them.

So we were out in the corridor decamping and putting all the gear together and this lady with a clipboard comes up and says, are you the crew

for Steve Martin and it was like in the movies we all looked at each other right all looked at each other and went all together yeah yeah we are yeah we are so we were you know shepherded into this room there was Entertainment Tonight MTV and us
