Listen, if the LA Rams think they're one player away, one edge rusher away from winning a Super Bowl to knock the Seahawks off their perch in the NFC, maybe they would do it.
But there's probably, I can count on one hand, the number of teams who are probably
willing to do that.
And then even if they are, you have to come to terms with what you would want in return for TJ.
Would you take a discount and say, okay, I'll just, I'll take a second round pick.
Would you do that if you're the Steelers?
That's the question.
Well, there was a time where they could not consider trading TJ because they didn't have the depth, but they have the depth now.
So that's why I'm saying I think at least Omar at the combine here in about a week or so, I think he will at least listen to offers or put it out there that maybe they would listen.
But I don't think it's a strong likelihood of happening at all.
Well, listen, he's their Walter Payton Man of the Year award.
He's a big guy out in the community for them, so they would definitely be trading away a guy they think really a lot of.
He is one of their top all-around guys when you look at the whole picture.
But from a football perspective, I could see how that would make sense because if you think of the way the Steelers β
have their edge rushers.
Like Jack Sawyer would be like the Alex Highsmith replacement, right?
The bigger defensive end type, the guy who's really good against the run is going to give you a little bit in the pass rush department too.
Now, Jack has a long way to go to get up to speed to do what Alex has done in the league, but yes, those guys are similar, so I could see that happening, but that's their guy, though.
Alex Highsmith is their guy.
Sign him to a second contract.
