He's fine out there.
Maybe the thing is you just draft a nose tackle and you pay Keanu Benton to be Cam Hayward's replacement.
You could do that, but I wouldn't give him a huge contract.
I would be willing to go like $8 or $10 million a year, I think, because I think he's a good player, but I'm not going nuts there and giving him a lot of money.
I don't think that's a bad idea, Joe, because what's the value of a safety?
Downs is probably one of the top players in this draft, but
The value in drafting a safety in the top 10, I mean, look where the Steelers got Troy Palamalo.
Is that like 16th or something like that?
Where they got him back in 2003.
So, yeah, if he would slide, Joe, I would not β I would be fine with the Steelers β
trying to take a stab at that.
What I did, because I think it's more likely, is there's four receivers in this draft in the first round before there's a bit of a drop-off.
There's Makai Lemon, there's Carnell Tate, top 10, top 15 picks.
Jordan Tyson is right in that realm too, probably 15, you know, 12 to 20.
And then there's Boston from Washington who's right around that range too.
So if you want to get one of the top four guys β
you're probably going to have to trade up from 21 if you're the Steelers.
And I had them trading up to get Jordan Tyson from Arizona State, guy who learned from Hines Ward, tough player, good character guy.
That's why I went with him.
