Five are receivers.
You could probably get a really good receiver at number 21 if you're the Steelers.
And correct me if I'm wrong, I think the last time they used a first-round pick on a receiver was what, San Antonio Holmes back in 2006?
I mean, based on their track record over the last โ
Decade or so, the Chase Claypools and the Deontay Johnsons and Sammy Coatses of the world.
Maybe it's time to finally spend a first round pick on a receiver and get back to doing what you did really well a couple of decades ago when you were really good.
Yeah, I'm actually writing about that over the weekend.
If you go back, so from the decade from 2012 to 2021,
I think they drafted 10 receivers, Donnie.
Only one made it to a second contract with the Steelers, and that was Deontay Johnson.
And I think Deontay only lasted like one season after he signed that deal before he wore out his welcome.
Now, I'm not saying all those guys were busts.
Like Juju was a good player for a couple years.
Martavis was a good player.
He was just a troubled guy, and he could never get it together.
But the Chase Claypools, the Sammy Coates, the Marcus Wheatons, they were getting guys like Antoine Randall-Well.
in the middle rounds back in the day.
They were getting guys like Mike Wallace and Antonio Brown and Emmanuel Sanders in the middle to later rounds under Kevin Colbert.
So, you know, Kevin's last decade wasn't great at receiver, but they've got to try to get back to what they did years ago, draft, develop, throw some draft picks at the position and see if you can turn it around.
That's what I would do.
