So.
Well, you put together a really dope project with Porches.
How do you feel now that it's finally out?
Yeah.
The feedback and just like where you at today, like right now, your album is out and people are listening and giving you good reviews, bad reviews.
With everything you worked for to get to this point, how do you feel now that everything is finally out?
I feel like a weight is off my shoulder.
This is actually the first time I've dropped, uh, uh, anything from TD where, and this is the part that the, the positive part that came from the situation is where like the fans wanted to like it.
And what I mean by that is usually when you drop a TD, you are always faced with like, you're going to get compared to dot.
You're going to get compared to Q, uh,
People are going to ask you where Zay's been.
So they're going to do that before they even hear the music at all.
This is the first time where people were genuinely just completely interested in like, I just want to hear the music.
I just want to see if the music is good.
And I think that also played a factor into why outside of the music actually being good, I think that also played a factor into why the reviews have been so well is because it wasn't met with that comparison factor of like, let me compare this to Good Kid, Mass City, which is just
just fucking stupid bro like just different topics different cities like I'm not a good kid I'm not in a mad city you know what I mean one of those things so it was the first time that they was really just listening to a reason album you know what I'm saying and so yeah that shit feels good though bro I've been sitting on this music for a long time and it's music and stories and shit like that that I wanted to get off of stories about me and my family and my friends and they've been wanting some of these stories to get out there too so that shit feels incredible
What's your situation like contractually with TD?
I can't go into details about that, but one thing I will say is that, um,
is that top like for top a contract is just a contract it's not about like holding you at least my experience with top it's not about holding somebody in a space top is very much a person of let's do what is best for the artist in whatever the artist would like to do so whatever that situation is like top is not a contract is literally just a contract for him yeah how do you see the difference between the roster that's signed just to tde and the roster that's signed to tde plus a major
That's a great question because I never really looked at it that way.
