It's funny, I've told it to many people, but it always surprises you when there are certain spaces where you struggle to talk about it again.

But we'll get through this.

We will, absolutely.

So, yeah, when I was 24 years old, like the safe and comfortable world that I knew to be true was completely flipped on its head when this horrific crime was committed against me, which sent me on this like six year journey to seek justice.

And in between all that, like on top of the trial, life just kind of threw every sort of curveball it could at me.

And so where this all began was back in 2019, and I'm 24 years old, love and life, playing footy cricket all year round, got lots of great friends in many different circles, but the pinnacle of my life at that point was this job that I had at Cricket Australia.

And you're right, my first dream job was to open the batting for Cricket Australia, and so that didn't happen, so the next best thing was to work at head office.

I'm working on it, yeah.

Okay.

And then a year after that was this horrendous crime that happened to me.

So – and on that particular day, the day that kind of my life changed forever, it was the day of the Cricket Australia end of season party.

So we're wrapping up a –

Another year of cricket.

This is happening mid-March.

And the whole organization heads out to South Melbourne to have this party.

It's Wild West themed.

I'm dressed up as a cowboy.

I've got my necktie on.

I've got my cowboy hat on.

And the night kicks on over to the Exchange Hotel over in Port Melbourne.
