This is my second spring training in the big leagues.

And I look in, and it's Juan, and I say, what are you doing?

And he's like, I'm just seeing who wants to work.

I'm like, okay, that's a different animal because that's what it takes.

And not until...

Years later, had I wished, I, you know, taken that bait and put it into something, you know, moved it into my own, what that looked like for me as a pitcher.

You know, getting into the weight room at 6 in the morning, having a plan and understanding that, not going through injuries and then being like, okay, I have to figure this out now.

I'm really, you know, in a fire pit here that I need to get myself out of.

But besides the point, the other guy would be Pedroia, Dustin Pedroia.

All right.

And for a multitude of reasons with him, but different reasons because of the competitive aspect.

It's like you wouldn't fight that guy with a gun.
