I'm surprised by David Seymour in this.
I mean, whatever you think about his policies, he's regarded as a fairly nimble, astute politician.
And this just seems like a rush of blood to the head.
We know he doesn't like RNZ.
And I think he's obviously got a problem with Morning Report, and he's now seized on John Campbell's appointment to Morning Report.
There are probably legitimate questions around that, given Campbell's opinion pieces that he did while he was at TVNZ.
But so far, there's no sign that Campbell has been biased in any way.
I think Seymour should have held off.
And if he had a legitimate concern about Campbell, then raise it at the time.
But no, he seems to have had a rush of blood.
And in my view, he's made a mistake.
Look, I've actually taken up with Seymour at a parliamentary social function.
his ongoing complaints about Paul Thompson.
I think we agreed to disagree.
I don't think David Seymour has given too conceding much ground on anything.
He's been paradoxical on this, hasn't he?
I mean, he's had a go at Thompson, but at the same time, he's said that Joe Moyer and the RNZ gallery team are the best team in the gallery.
So I'm not quite sure what his game is.
I think it's always been a fairly robust game, but I think this is one of the things how politics have changed a bit.
