It really is encouraging to look out and see so many faces here for Mrs Brennan, for Rosa.

Teachers, students, past and present.

This is something that has hit us all very hard because this is a college that is built on community, empathy, and understanding.

Rosa embodied all of those traits.

It's at this point I'd ask you all to join me in a moment of silence as we remember Rosa.

I turn to Ellie.

She takes a long, deep breath as she touches my hand.

It would be very fitting, and I'm sure cathartic, to hear someone, anyone, speak on their relationship with her.

No one speaks, but it's obvious who Mr Willis is.

Ellie's holding my hand now, squeezing it, hard, shaking her head, full of emotion.

I can't tell which one.

And then... I want to say a few words, if that's what I... I don't recognise this man, but the way Ellie's hand just slipped out of mine, I think I can guess.
