Chris Guest, probably the biggest single influence on me as well. both his style, a friend, and a mentor. Because I knew no one in the industry. And when the office went out, Chris Guest called me. He said his wife had seen it and said, you've got to watch this. And he loved it. And I could see why. He must have seen his influence in it. He said, if you're letting them edit it next time, why don't you write it with them?

And he's just lovely and he's still funny.

I remember he asked me once, he said, we'd just be mucking around like, you know, idiots, like kids. And he said, if we're suddenly not funny and no one finds us funny... how will we know? And I said, who cares? Yeah. Who cares? We're laughing. Yeah, for sure.
