And I was like, okay, that's fine.

And then he told me this idea that, like, we'll have...

you know, session players come in and we'll record everything in a matter of hours.

I was like, in a, what?

Like I have songs that I've released that I spent literally years on that had lived in some version for years as I tweaked it over months and months and months.

So the idea of the actual commitment to the recording, taking just a few hours felt

Yeah, dangerous is a good word.

Reckless, maybe.

I mean, I think it's really across all of it because one of the things that was most dangerous and the scariest part for me was that in addition to recording the music this way, I was supposed to record my vocals live as well.

And that was unfathomable to me because it's just so vulnerable.

you know, to sing and to sing these words.

I want to deliver them the best way I possibly can.

And so like, I need several shots at it.

Let me do it the normal way.

Let me, let me take several takes and then we can put together one comped version.

You know, like that's just the way that's normal to me.

And the idea that he's like, no, no, we're going to, you're going to sing while the rest of the band plays.

And I said, what if I don't get it right and everybody else is great?
