Everything.
I think all the values that I have about family come from my parents.
I lived at home till I was like 23 years old.
People were saying, when are you moving out?
I'm like, where would I go?
I mean, they were like, cut the cord, Rita, cut the cord, meaning the umbilical cord.
I'm like, I like my parents.
Why would I move out?
I eventually did move out and get an apartment, but I valued everything that my parents brought.
I learned everything.
Everything about who I am today is informed by my parents.
Work ethic, love, family, connection, humor.
All of that has been so impactful in my life.
I think the biggest challenge is realizing that the world was not often as warm, embracing, and understanding as my own family was.
So I had to learn a little bit about that.
You must miss them.

I still talk to them every day, though.
