Frankly, it's just courage and putting people first instead of putting themselves first.
And that's the culture of the military, actually, in terms of what works.
There are no big egos.
It's all about the mission.
And that's what we've lost in our politics.
The last time we had a mission, I disagreed with the war in Iraq.
But the last time I really felt that was when George W. Bush, after 9-11, was saying, you know, the rocks.
And he's like, those people who did this to us, they're going to hear from us.
It was a sense of, okay, like, I remember I was, they stopped the Flyers game because I grew up in Philadelphia to hear the president of the United States talk about what this country was going to do.
Like, how do we get that mission again as a country?
It's not a lot.

which is legitimate but changing, is when we had the Jim Crow South and when it was very, very hard for African-Americans to run for office and win statewide, the only way the black community would be able to gain a voice is to get to Congress, because they couldn't win statewide, and then develop seniority in Congress.
