Would this make it exciting?
Of course it would make it exciting.
People love deadlines, except me meeting yours to come on the program.
Otherwise, yeah.
Like I said earlier, it all comes back to money.
There's money attached to it.
The way the league had proposed the free agency signing deadline...
It's a multi-year deadline.
So if you don't accept a multi-year deal by whatever date, well, then you only take a one-year deal.
So if you're a good player and you're sitting there going, I don't like these multi-year deals, well, you're stuck.
Then you've got to take the multi-year deal that's on the table or all you get is a one-year deal, and that's the proposition the players don't like.
They think they're going to get screwed if they take a deadline.
Well, it's good for baseball.
Going back to the Dodgers...
Andrew Friedman had got up in front of everybody the other day, and they constantly have to answer this whole thing about, oh, we're buying baseball and we're ruining baseball, whatever it is.
But I do think this, Evan, and you tell me if you agree or don't agree.
The Dodgers know what they're doing in this sense.
And I think that more teams, more of these rich owners can actually do this same sort of thing with or without this TV money.
which is you spend money to make money.
The Dodgers aren't doing this unless it's good for business.
