There was, if you don't mind, there's one when we were still playing.
You know, we played for 25 years here and overseas and were extremely fortunate in so many ways, you know, to have that local and international audience.
Quite unprecedented and also timing had a great thing to do with it because we came up overseas at the same time as Men at Work and In Excess and Church and Crowded House and so there was a whole lot of A&R people crawling around Australia in the late 80s looking for bands and we happened to be there and we were already road toughened by then and we had track record of recording not only in Australia but in Japan.
with Red Sails and the Sunset, and then in England with great producers like Glyn Johns, who saw us once in Salinas and when we recorded.
So we had this track record.
We just happened to be at the right time, right place.
So we had these amazing tours, and we ended up, of all places, eventually in South Africa, in Johannesburg.
about three or four months after President Mandela finally came in after all those terrible years of apartheid.
So we joined the blockade.
We refused to let our albums be sold there.
But, of course, they were on the black market.
So by the time we finally got there, there was a huge crowd.
And people knew your music?
And they knew our music.
And people had been bussed in from the townships, from Soweto and others.
I don't know how many people, 30 or 40,000.
Massive Bill, which we topped.
