I've got this blokey walking group from Byron Bay.
They're all called John.
So I call myself John just to make it easier.
And so far we've walked, for example, the Larapinta Trail, Hinchinbrook Island, Flinders Ranges National Park, the Great North Walk from Sydney to Newcastle, which is surprisingly difficult, and many others.
That's when you can stop and just take stock, you know.
I mean, I've got tinnitus ringing in my left ear the whole time from 25 years of playing the drums non-stop.
And some of those places in the great quiet, it's really loud, you know.
And that's the only time I actually hear it.
But I realise how much background noise and metaphorical background noise there is constantly there.
So we walk, you know, an average of 22 to 25 k's a day.
We talk sometimes together.
It's a group of about six of us.
But a lot of the time we just walk and think.
And I recommend it to anyone.
You're most welcome.
