But also even the title Strangers, like the really powerful part in the book is when he came in that 12 hours later in the morning with his backpacks to tell her he was going, that he didn't care about custody of the children, that he didn't love her anymore, that she looked in his eyes.
And she did.
And she made it.
But...
She looks in his eyes and she basically doesn't recognise the man that she spent all these years with.
Suddenly, he literally is somebody she doesn't recognise anymore.
And you never knew.
The version you knew wasn't the real deal.

When I was reading the book, though, I don't know about you, but I didn't ever feel really that sorry for her financially.
I kind of always knew.
I know there's a sort of a story where you're kind of wondering what's going to happen at the end with the finances.
