What's going on?

Well, there was a rumour that the gays would drink coffee in Simon's Place.

Or Mark's Brothers it was called at the time.

So I went to Mark's Brothers.

You know, it was confusing because all the bicycle couriers used to...

And, you know, interesting guys with shaved heads and piercings and stuff.

And I didn't know who was who.

But they had copies of Hot Press magazine.

And in the back of Hot Press magazine, they'd have small ads.

And there was always a few small ads for gays.

But it would always be like, you know, like Farmer Mullingar looking for a farmer in Westmeath.

Whatever.

But it always had this one little ad for a thing called Ice Breakers.

which was like the first Tuesday of the month or first Thursday of the month, something like that.

And it was in the Clarence Hotel.

But this is before you too bought it.

It was the kind of place where I would, well, I always sort of jokingly say, you know, if you were the Ballinrow priest and you had to come up and see the bishop, you might stay in the Clarence.

You know, it's like it smelled of cabbage.

And anyway, like nice enough, but you know.
