So the field is owned by the church and it's actually completely landlocked.
So we approached them and just asked them, would it be possible for us to use the space?
It's a space that's been dormant for years.
And so they were absolutely enthused by the idea.
And we just thought if we had a more deciduous forest, that there'd be a whole other element to learning that could be achieved based on the different habitat.
You know, that was something we had to chat to the kids about.
We said this isn't going to be a project that's going to be ready tomorrow.
This is going to take time and it could be your children that could get the benefits from this.
But, you know, that it's something we need to look towards the future.
And every child planted a tree and had their part to play in it.
So they felt like they had taken ownership of their environment for the future.
Our take on it is that it's another resource and that there's so many resources out there.
You just have to pick and choose your resources to suit what lesson you're trying to get across.
And as educators, we just need to pick the right resource and use it in the right context.
