What I found really interesting in what you just said was that it made me feel like I could fit in.
I resonated a lot with that because I felt the same.
So did you feel like you didn't fit in?
I mean, I think lots of people resonate with that.
I mean, I hear it a lot, this kind of feeling of being uncomfortable in your own skin.
I always had it.
I always felt like a bit of a dick, you know, and I always felt like people thought I was a bit of a dick, you know.
Then I had a drink and I didn't, and I probably acted more like a dick.
Yeah.
but people seem to like me yeah yeah so you didn't care or i didn't care yeah yeah yeah but like it was so weird like but like and then i thought oh i had to have a drink because otherwise i'm nothing you know so like it's like this weird kind of like i don't know superpower in my pocket yeah you know it's like like this little thing oh it's still a trick i've got and then i can become someone yeah you know it's like you know when eric eats a banana
He turns into Banana Man.
When Matt takes drink or drugs, he becomes someone people like.
You know, there's a weird kind of connotation.
I mean, did your bandmates know, or is it hard?
I always find this confusing because...
Like, if you're in it and behaviour is going on everywhere, it's very hard to spot anyone that's struggling, I think.
So in the music industry, it's really hard to kind of like... I've been on tour with people now where I'm sober and eventually something's happened and I've had to have a chat with someone.
I'm like, I did not see this.
Because it's happening everywhere, it's hard to spot.
Did you find that?
