Florida's chief financial officer says the city of Miami is burning through tax dollars.
Blaise Ngoglia says the city's general fund skyrocketed past what it should be, even with taking population growth and inflation into account.
And Goglia says his mission is to root out wasteful spending in local governments across the state as part of an effort for property tax reform, floating the idea of eliminating them altogether.
And the city of Miami is the latest target, with its general fund increasing more than $358 million since fiscal year 2019.
And Goglia says he's done similar audits in eight local governments, uncovering more than $1.1 billion in wasteful spending this year alone.
