In our last episode, we told you that the DPP had entered a Nolly Prosecuit for John Shaw on all charges relating to Elizabeth.
But no one knows why.
A Nolly is not an acquittal.
It is a stay on a prosecution, so the case can be reopened, especially if new information or witnesses come forward.
Elizabeth's family want to see John Shaw going on trial for what he did to Elizabeth.
I would prefer a trial and a proper conviction and to be part of the parole process legally the way it should have been from the beginning.
Bernie and Kathleen reached out to a number of government agencies to highlight their situation and get answers about why there was no conviction for Elizabeth.
Every single reply turned them away.
There is nothing arising at this point in time for the Minister to consider.
Every department wants to just brush us aside.
We've tried every avenue.
We have tried every single thing we can.
In November 2024, we at RT Documentary on One also sent letters to each of the relevant government agencies that Kathleen and Bernie had contacted, including the Director of Public Prosecutions, the Garda Commissioner and the Minister for Justice.
And we received some replies.
