But the Maralith has traditionally been portrayed in D&D as at least the upper half of the torso because the bottom half is obviously a snake, as I don't say a human woman because it has six arms, but a human-ish human. woman with six arms.

We don't, okay. Well, the picture of a snake and sword is generally what you should be thinking. Well, yeah, it's very, well, bestial is the word I would use. It looks like an animalistic demon, still vaguely humanoid, but sort of like bluish, bluish black fur and pointy ears and yellow eyes and teeth and horns on its head, all over its head and stuff. Does it still have a lot of swords? No.
