Inside the van, I connect up to the grid and start to work my way through some databases.
Usually, the only time I need to look through this kind of system is when I'm checking contacts for deliveries, not researching ancient family trees.
So at first, I'm a little out of my depth.
Eventually, I trace back over a hundred years and... That's when I see her name.
Even after all these years, I still think about that name almost every day.
But I haven't spoken it out loud in almost a century.
Maybe because part of me is afraid that the very act of invoking it will somehow throw me back into the past.
Into those horrible last days.
