John Gunther, one of the most famous journalists in America in the middle of the 20th century, his son, this precocious, brilliant kid on his way to Harvard at like 16 or 17 gets diagnosed with a terminal brain tumor.

And it is a book about his son fighting for his life.

That same fire that you see in The Sun and The Road, you see in this kid and you see him trying to keep it alive.

His parents keep it alive.

It is a beautiful, beautiful book.

I was very moved by that.

And then if you like the survivalist elements of The Road, the sort of journeying element of it and the implacable sort of human spirit, the inability to quit or be killed, I thought The Revenant, which is also a good movie.

is a very good one based on a true story about a man mauled by a grizzly bear left to die by his two companions.

And he undertakes a several hundred mile journey of survival so he can enact his revenge on them.

It is a riveting novel.
